Kentucky, Driving, Tennessee, More Driving, Virginia and Maryland, More Driving, Pennsylvania!

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while, but most of what we've been doing is DRIVING! After Nashville, we drove to Kentucky where we had two lovely performances at Lake Cumberland Performing Arts Center in Somerset, KY. After the performances we drove to Madisonville, KY and had two performances the next day at the Glema Mahr Theatre. The evidence of the ice storms of the previous weeks was everywhere.

After Madisonville, we drove to Cookeville, TN where one of the vans had a run in with a pole at a gas station. Shelley takes care of business after the incident.

In Cookeville we spent the night, got up and drove to Fairfax, VA (a LONG day of driving). Josh had Pricelined rooms for us last night at the Hyatt which is terrific, but I was very lucky and got to stay with my Aunt Michele in Alexandria, VA instead. She came and picked me up from the hotel and took me out for a really nice Thai dinner (I heart Thai food!) and then we went home to Alexandria for the night. Staying at her house is sort of like staying at my Mom's house because it feels like home to me and there are lots of pictures of my family which is very welcoming. We had a great time.

This morning we got up, fueled up on Starbucks and she drove me to our venue for the day, Paul Barnhart Elementary in Waldorf, MD. Michele watched the show with what was our craziest audience to date. They were going NUTS for the show! It was like a kindergarten rock concert. To be honest, the teachers had very little control over their classes so it was a little insane. There were times when we couldn't even hear the music. During the Tarantula number when we're behind a wall, it was nearly impossible to hear since it's the "scary" moment of the show so kids usually scream there anyway...but these kids were soooo loud. Shelley, our stage manager, was off to the side of the gym where we were able to see her from behind the wall, so she was mouthing the words so we could see where we were in the music. It was that loud.


Today after the show, we drove to Chambersburg, PA where we are staying in a very nice Holiday Inn Express. Tomorrow morning we have a 20 minute drive to the University of Pennsylvania at Shippensburg where we have two performances tomorrow. From Shippensburg we drive to South New Jersey where we will have the pleasure of being hosted by Colleen's family on Saturday and Sunday evening. We have performances in Vineland, NJ on Sunday and Monday. Colleen's Mom is making dinner for us Saturday night and breakfast for us on Sunday. We are looking forward to home cooked food!


And now, I am off to bed. Driving is exhausting even if you're not the one at the wheel the whole time.
